Our story begins long before R.A.M was ever a company. As a teenager, Robbie – our owner and Director – spent his school holidays working alongside his father, developing a love for the trade from an early age. At just 16, he left school to join his dad full time. Like any father and son working closely together, it wasn’t always plain sailing, but those experiences shaped him.

At 17, Robbie took a year to work down south, broadening his skills before returning home to continue building something alongside his dad. Then, at 22, he took over the business – and that was the beginning of R.A.M.

He hired his first employee shortly after and began focusing on garden maintenance. As the client base grew, so did the operation – new equipment, new sites, and a growing roster of commercial clients that kept expanding year on year.

In 2022, the business became VAT registered, and in March 2023 we incorporated to formally become R.A.M Garden and Grounds Maintenance Contractor Ltd. It was around this time that we made the decision to focus exclusively on commercial grounds maintenance – stepping back from residential garden work. It wasn’t an easy call, but it was the right one, and it’s allowed us to truly specialise in what we do best.

Sadly, Robbie’s father is no longer with us, but his influence lives on in everything we do. We continue to build on the foundation he helped create, and today we’re proud to have an incredible team of five people who bring dedication and passion to every single job.
